NOTE: This late-night post is the result of me pulling ideas out of my butt throughout the day and then combining them. Also, I get pretty random and haven’t had much sleep. So… yeah, I guess that’s context? Either way, enjoy this post consisting of cobbled-together thoughts, music with somewhat relevant lyrics, and a Simpsons clip.

I’m often preoccupied with life things, but who isn’t? Reality has a strange way of getting the best of us and taking us from things we really want to do. And as if that weren’t enough, the brain was designed to work a certain way. So if one is preoccupied or has something on their mind, they’re not likely able to focus on another thing. Basically, multitasking is a myth. Sure, you can chew gum while walking (unless you have no jaw and/or legs), but as far as many other things go… doing two things at once is impossible. You can definitely go back and forth with things, but that’s the thing. Whether you prefer that or doing one thing at a time is all up to you. Personally, I feel like I can do both methods, but I don’t push it.

Still, I am human. There’s no way I could, for example, write something AND cook a massive meal consisting of Chinese food for a big-ass family. And no, I don’t mean a big ass family where everyone has big butts for faces like those butt-face people from that one South Park episode. I just mean big-ass family as in, “Good lord, this family is bigger than the Brady Bunch, the Wayans, and the Kardashians all rolled into one!”

That’d be one massive family. Can you imagine what Christmas would be like? I somehow get the feeling that the Wayans would get along perfectly with the Kardashians. But just picture how they’d act at the dinner table. You couldn’t expect interesting and stimulating conversations in that My Dinner With Andre sorta’ way, you’re more likely to have conversations akin to something you’d hear in Judd Apatow movies, but with less sanity.

And how would the Brady Bunch handle that situation? Well… they’d be off doing their own thing unless you bring in The Waltons for them to interact with. But it is fun to imagine what the Wayans would do to annoy the Bradys. My instinct tells me they could handle some of the lighthearted commentary and jokes, but I strongly emphasize the word some. I mean, if one of the Wayans brothers makes a joke that’s just slightly edgy, Marsha and her sisters would totally freak out and question reality.

Don’t ask why I think this would happen, it’s just an intuition. And I do often trust my intuition with things. Maybe not high-risk things involving fluctuating numbers, but certainly with some things. Heh, there’s me emphasizing that word again. I wonder if it’s a sign. But anyway, I’m not entirely sure I could put my intuition to use in something like, oh… let’s just say the stock market.

I’ve never been in the stock market, nor have I ever read much about it, so I wouldn’t have the slightest idea of what to expect. And who knows what would happen? Would anything drastic happen at all? What good could come of it? I feel like I should now ask the obligatory, “What’s the worst that could happen?” but then that would put the butterfly effect into motion and cause a massive flub. A blunder, if you will. And do you know what others would call that blunder?

No really, do you know what they’d call it? I feel like I should have something witty right there, but I don’t got anything. Weird huh? One minute I know what I’m talking about regarding the multitasking myth, then I’m theorizing interactions between famous families, but then I go into stock market stuff of which I have zero knowledge of, and I have nothing. I shouldn’t have to explain this, but I find it amusing.

Ah, blundercast. That could be a funny name for it. I mean, it’s not super clever, but considering that I’m not smart about stock market stuff, the lack of cleverness actually represents my blunder perfectly. Blundercast is perfect.

Hmm, it’s tempting to do something with that name. It’d be perfect for a podcast, but I already have several name ideas for a podcast. Blundercast would also work as a name for a TV-network style lineup of cheesy shows I could put together. Heh… meanwhile, as I theorize on what to do with this name, someone out there is reading this and getting the idea to use Blundercast in a creation of their own. Hey, go for it. I already got sticky notes scattered around with names for potential series.

Speaking of series, I could see doing these late night posts as a recurring thing. If I play my cards right, it could be a second thing in addition to the usual Wednesday post. Anyone think I should try this? In a way, it’s already a little crazy having one thing to do every week here, but now that I’ve taken care of other things, I could try it and see how it goes. I wouldn’t overthink it, it’d be as random as (if not more random than) the free-form posts, but it’d be released in the late-night. I could even play with the format to differentiate it more as time goes on.

I didn’t expect to talk about this, but I’m liking this idea. Who knows where it could lead?  In the mean time, let me know what you think and I’ll play around with concepts.

So until next time, stay safe out there and look out for each other.  I’ll see you next week! o/
