I like to feel active. Really active, actually. I’d say it comes from wanting to feel busy and animated. You see, I like being in motion. The feeling of it, the state of flow, everything about it is great. But after a while of moving around, I gotta take a break. On the other hand, I don’t like lounging for too long. That’s when I gotta get up and walk. Whether I go out for a walk or to take my dog out for a bit as I get some air, it’s nice being out and about.
Then after this goes on for some time, I find my feet hurting a little. It’s kind of expected with how much I like moving around, but taking breaks always helps with this. Some people sit for long durations and then have to get up and move around to take a break, but I basically do the opposite and sit to take a break. Yep, I’m a member of the standing desk revolution. I like it, but sometimes I need to sit and yet I want to keep working on something, so that’s when I grab a tall bar stool.
There are other little factors to feet fatigue. Sleeping positions, the fact that overly-excited dogs might trample on my feet, even something random like kicking objects out of the way. Well… objects that are capable of being kicked out of the way. It’d be crazy to kick something that couldn’t be moved at all. It’s not like I’m gonna try to kick a tree. I’m not that ridonkulous.
Yeah, this Wendy’s commercial came to mind. Anyone remember it?
Hey, imagine if tree kicking took off. There’s the whole “Tree Hugger” thing, but let’s pretend that being a “Tree Kicker” is a new thing. Sure, martial artists kick trees to strengthen their legs, but imagine this becoming a sort of joke or meme for non-martial artists. Would it become a short-lived fad like planking? Would someone really be willing to have a friend take a photo or film a video of them kicking the nearest tree for the purpose of just joking around?
Considering that some people have done crazier things that have gone viral, I’d say it’s definitely possible. But that’s if people really wanna go nuts with this idea. And hey, imagine people coming up with different ways of kicking trees. Since this could be a meme-style thing, they could Photoshop themselves in funny ways to look as if they’re kicking a tree while levitating, for instance. They could even use a prosthetic leg to kick a tree. They could also re-enact impossible kicks from video games!
And hey, they may as well re-enact anything from video games, not just attacks. Kind of like what the crew at Mega64 has done.
I watched this on Youtube eleven years ago… holy horse euphemism Batman!
I love these sorta’ things. The crew at Mega64 has acted out video games like Tetris, Mario, and even Shadow of the Colossus. These are really entertaining, and although they’ve sometimes been approached by cops for causing disruptions, they’ve always managed to keep things lighthearted. These are all in good fun, but now I’m imagining how somebody could maybe take this idea further.
Could it be taken further, though? I would say that someone could re-enact an entire video game and not just scenes, but that would require a LOT of free-time. Free time that could probably be better spent re-enacting other things. These are great videos, but maybe there’s other things to re-enact. Movies are an option, just look at the movie Be Kind Rewind and you’ll see what I mean. Maybe music videos? Some people already do that on Youtube while lip-syncing to lyrics, so we need to get more quirky and creative. Think of something nobody would ever expect.
Re-enacting the entire history of the world is out of the question, although it would be fun to see. How about TV shows that people would rather forget? My Mother the Car, Bob Patterson, or something like Small Wonder, for example. Actually… let’s make it a Shadow of the Colossus crossover in which Vicki from Small Wonder would be the lead character. Fans of that game will see where I’m going with this since they know the character you play is named Wander, so I’ll refrain from saying that this crossover would be called Small Wander.
Oops, I just said it. Silly me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just look at her! She could take down a colossus with that evil gaze.
But seriously, really odd crossovers between popular games and odd TV shows just may be the ticket. And granted, it’d take a while to do; but it’s like they’ve always said: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Successful things take a lot of time in planning and producing, but the result may be worth it if everything goes smooth. And hey, what’s the worst that could happen when you dress somebody as a giant behemoth that a Small Wonder cosplayer could fight?
Oh right. Madness.
Anyway, people can and will do silly things to reach internet popularity. Whether it’s kicking trees or re-enacting… pretty much anything, crazy things are bound to happen. What matters, though, is that they don’t hurt themselves nor anyone else. And as long as we don’t find ourselves being pelted with butterknives by kids dressed up as pajama-onesie versions of woodland creatures who are after us for kicking their tree homes, I think we’ll be fine.
Unless those trees had it coming. In which case, getting pummeled by The Animals of Farthing Wood cosplayers might be worth it. Maybe even hilarious.
See ya next time! o/
