Been a hot minute since I’ve done this. And I don’t mean just writing entries, I mean writing on a consistent basis. And if anyone creepin’ on my social media has noticed the new little things, from a reworded bio, to the new header graphics and profile photo, there’s a good reason for that. A return to this was always inevitable, despite really getting into the Tiktok thing (and, admittedly, having more fun with it than writing). Because when I think about it, I do miss this. And since I’m entering a new phase, it only makes sense I carry the same refreshing energy into this.

So consider this a proper announcement about the overall blog activity. I mean, it feels weird saying it since it felt inevitable, and it also feels weird in that it seems redundant (a couple previous entries had that same thing of, “Still balancing things out, stay tuned.”), but getting it in writing like this feels better and it at least gives you an idea that I’m going to do my damnedest to make sure I hold myself to a new standard. I still see notifications when new readers either like an entry and/or follow the blog, and to those of you who have done so, thank you. I’m happy that my content is doing something to provide levity, fun, and maybe even something to learn and grow from.

That has sparked more life into my motivation, and thus, I’ve finally gotten to the core of it and figured out how to describe my brand and overall theme. So if there’s anything that sets this entry apart from the previous behind the scenes entries and the announcement, it is this.

Introspective entertainment for personal growth and laughter.

I mean it makes perfect sense. I’ve always been in my head (for growth and absurd humor), I’ve loved writing fun stuff, I took things into different territory when I developed personal/introspective pieces, then, when I had a panic attack that changed everything a couple years ago, I found myself exploring my personal growth and sharing it. And since I joined Tiktok to create entertaining videos, I also found myself going into personal growth there as well. Since doing both, I’ve discovered a lot about my sensibilities not only as an entertainer, but as a person.

So now that I have a firm idea of my overall brand, I have a better idea of what fits and what doesn’t in terms of content. I’ve taken a good look at the blog entries I’ve done over the years, and I have a good idea for what feels unneeded. For instance, I don’t see a need to do nostalgic movie and TV show reviews on a consistent basis like I used to (although I may still do some during October, since I love Halloween & horror movies and consider it a tradition).

I’ve also had a hard time deciding whether My Personal Misadventures and Something About Me should be combined since they’re a bit similar, or dropped entirely. For now, I’m focused on the other entries. Obviously, it’s understandable that people want to learn about me and those entries are perfect for it; but I also feel like they don’t quite fit with the whole idea of “Introspective entertainment.” However, I recognize that others might still find them entertaining, so if I figure out a way write them in a way that makes them fit, I’ll do so. If anyone has ideas for that, feel free to let me know in the comments.

Overall, I’ve figured out what I like to write and what will continue. As far as video content goes, Tiktoks will obviously continue, and I’m finally getting things together for building a Youtube presence, so that’s something for you all to look forward to.

My idea was and still is to keep going big with putting myself out there as a content creator and actor, so even little things help along the way. I’ve been talking with a lot of people behind the scenes and figuring out how to finally bridge the gap between this whole online thing and the work thing. Nothing happens over night, but I’m still playing my cards and looking out for myself. The main difference between me doing this a couple years ago and me doing this now is that now I’m talking about it more, and that’s because of new & recent opportunities that are motivating me to get back into this on a whole new core level as well as a consistent basis.

The things I’ve put in place are already making me want to create more cool stuff for you all to enjoy, so I’ll leave you with that. It feels weird to say “Stay tuned” like I always do, but I suppose that’s just a thing I say. How does stick around sound? Yeah, we’ll go with that.

Stick around everyone, and enjoy the show.

You didn’t think I was gonna write a blog entry titled My Brand and not mention this classic commercial, right? Please, I’m not one for missed opportunities.
