Screw a proper intro, here’s the skinny.

I spent last week attending a one-week Film Production Assistant course. I go more into it in this post on my threads profile, so I’ll keep this short. I learned a lot, met many local filmmakers, earned a certificate, and am motivated to keep going. But this is only the beginning, because the best way to put my knowledge to use is to go bigger.

As for here, I’ll still be acting and creating content. But now that I’ve taken care of personal things and have better resources, I’ll be doing my absolute best to breathe more life into my content. Not just videos, but everything, including this. And after looking at specific entries, I’ve decided to keep things simple.

To finish every draft (there are many) with the same approach of the last several entries AND film & edit videos would be neigh-impossible. So I’ll be going back to the feel of the early entries for certain categories (MIngled up Musings in particular). I noticed a lot of those entries are surprisingly short, and I kinda’ miss that. In a way, it makes sense to do that again, what with people talking or joking about short attention spans. I see this as both, a return to form, and also a challenge.

That’s not to say I’ll throw lazy posts on here for the sake of having something. I’ll still treat them the way I would treat bigger entries. With the return to brevity, I’ll be able to pack them with a good punch just like those early entries. But I’ll save bigger ideas for certain days/themes when I do wanna go all-out, because I do enjoy researching and spending time on more fleshed-out posts (my Halloween entries come to mind). Wet people’s appetite with short punchy entries, then give ’em a full course with bigger entries, ya know? Sounds like a good idea.

Everything else? I’m finally making it happen. I won’t say what, all I will say is it’s about time I do something I should’ve done a while ago.

I initially didn’t wanna do this post. I am, admittedly, tired of making announcements only to find life junk, distractions or whatever getting in the way of creating. But I’ve taken care of personal things. It wasn’t easy, and it did require making some sacrifices (moving out of the apartment, for instance), but a lot of realizations and other stuff has been adding up to this, and it really makes sense that now IS the time.

Saying anything else at this point would be overkill, so keep your eyes peeled. I’ll see ya soon!
